The potentially explosive litigation between Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and former Chennai partner Dorothy Thomas has been put to rest in the Bombay High Court. The settlement terms have been filed before Justice Kathawala with Senior Counsel Soli Cooper appearing for Thomas and Zal Andhyarujina appearing for Cyril Shroff. Atlas Law Partners has hired Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas’ Medha Srivastava as an Associate Partner, as first reported by VCCircle. A graduate of NUJS Kolkata, Medha started her career with the erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas, before joining Kochhar & Co. In 2015, she moved to Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where she worked as a Principal Associate. Atlas Law was set up in November last year by two former Cyril Amarchand Partners Harry Chawla and Niti Paul. The duo joined Cyril Amarchand in April 2015, when the firm set up its Delhi office post the split.

Venture Intelligence has released its league tables for Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions deals in 2016. One year after they split, each Amarchand firm has topped a table. Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas topped the PE tables with 47 deals valued at $6.5 billion, while Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas heads the M&A tables with 38 deals valued at around $26 billion.
